3 Bulls Finish Regular Season With American Honors

TAMPA – A trio of Bulls have wrapped up the regular season with some conference recognition.

Brentton Muhammad has been named American Athletic Conference Goalkeeper of the Week, while Nikola Paunic earned defensive player of the week honors and Stiven Salinas made the league's weekly honor roll.

Muhammad posted nine saves in two shutouts during USF's 1-0-1 week. The senior from London grabbed five saves in the Bulls' 0-0 double-overtime tie at No. 11 Louisville on Sunday.

Paunic, a junior defenseman, anchored USF's back line that didn't give up a goal in 200 minutes and allowed just nine shots on goal. Salinas, a senior forward, scored USF's goal in a 1-0 victory over Detroit Mercy on Oct. 29.

The Bulls finished the regular season as the fifth seed in The American and begin postseason play with a quarterfinal test against fourth-seeded Temple 1 p.m. Saturday in Philadephia.
