Strong to Appear on ESPN Networks Friday
TAMPA, JULY 28, 2017 – USF head football coach
Charlie Strong will be in Bristol, Conn., Friday as he visits the ESPN campus for the day to make numerous appearances on ESPN's television, radio and on-line platforms.
The Bulls were on the field Thursday for their third practice of fall camp. Strong is giving the Bulls the day off on Friday before USF returns to the fields for practices on Saturday and Sunday morning. Practices are not open to the public.
Strong will make numerous appearances in the proverbial ESPN "Car Wash" on Friday. The Worldwide Leader in Sports has been hosting college coaches over the last two weeks as teams gear up for the 2017 college football season. ESPN has hosted all the coaches from the Big 12 and ACC, as well as SEC coaches Nick Saban (Alabama), LSU's Ed Orgeron (LSU) and Butch Jones (Tennessee) in the previous weeks.
Strong will be live on the ESPN networks from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday, starting with an appearance on
Mike & Mike at 9 a.m. and
SportsCenter at 9:30 a.m. Strong will make two more appearances on
SportsCenter as well as televised appearances on
First Take,
The Ryen Rusillo Show and
College Football Live during the day and radio appearances on the
Stephen A. Smith Radio, the
Paul Finebaum Show,
The Ryen Russillo Show and
The Right Time with Bomani Jones.

USF finished the 2016 season ranked No. 19 in the Associated Press poll with a school-record 11 wins following the program's fifth-ever bowl victory in the Birmingham Bowl. The Bulls' 11-2 record marked the fifth-best winning percentage in FBS football in 2016 and one of just 11 teams to reach 11 wins. USF set nearly 40 team and individual records in 2016, including team records for total yards (6,650), rushing yards (3,714), touchdowns (77) and scoring (569). Junior quarterback Quinton Flowers was named the American Conference Offensive Player of the Year and led a school-record 10 players named to the all-conference team, six of which, including Flowers, will return in 2017.
