Ennis Takes Triple Jump at Day One of Gladstein Invitational

BLOOMINGTON, Ind., JAN. 20, 2018 – USF track and field opened day one of the second indoor match of the season with one event victory and five top-three finishes at the Gladstein Invitational on Friday in Bloomington, Ind.

Junior D'Angelo Ennis (Kingston, Jamaica) took home the triple jump with a distance of 48-6.75.
 
Junior Jada Massie (Bradenton, Fla.) placed first in the preliminaries of the women's 60 meters, coming up one-tenth of a second short of her personal best time at 7.55 seconds. In the finals of the event, the Bulls placed two in the top three. Massie again ran a 7.55 for second place, and Chelsea Francis (Jacksonville, Fla.) placed third with a time of 7.62.
 
In the fast section of the men's 400 meters, sophomore Maurice Nock (Sanford, Fla.) placed third with a time of 49.05.

Other Notable Men's Results
  • Sophomore Yohance Haynes (Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.) came in third in the men's 400 meters, coming in at 49.68 seconds.
  • Junior David Bell (Jacksonville, Fla.) placed in fifth in the pole vault, clearing a height of 16-5.25. Junior Joe Fogarasi (Columbia, Conn.) was right behind him in sixth, also with a height of 16-5.25.
  • In the men's weight throw, Bruce Robinson (Little Falls, N.Y) and Zach Diaczynsky (Naples, Fla.) placed in fourth and fifth, respectively. Robinson had a mark of 52-10.5, while Diaczynsky was at 52-4.5.
  • Sophomore Curtis Thomas (Auburndale, Fla.) came in fourth in the 60 meters with a time of 6.93.
 
Other Notable Women's Results
  • Senior Tierra Lacey (Hollywood, Fla.) came in third in the women's triple jump with a distance of 38-4.00.
  • Senior Rachel O'Neill (Seattle, Wash.) placed fourth in the 60 meter hurdles, coming in at 8.69 seconds.
