Four Bulls Set Personal Bests on Day Two in Indiana

BLOOMINGTON, Ind., JAN. 21, 2018 – USF track and field had four athletes set new personal bests on day two of the Gladstein Invitational in Bloomington, Ind.
 
Chelsea Francis (Jacksonville, Fla.) won the fast section of the women's 200 meters, coming in with a time of 24.51. The time moves her into fifth place all-time on the women's indoor top 10 for the 200 meters.
 
Jada Massie (Bradenton, Fla.) moves into the top 10 of the 200 meters with her time of 24.97. She now sits in 10th on the chart. Her time was good enough for third place in the fast section.
 
Senior Kaitlyn Gill's (Charlotte, N.C.) second place finish in the long jump improved her personal best mark. She finished with a distance of 19-2.00, good for second place in the event. She now has sixth place alone on the all-time top 10.
 
Zach Diaczynsky (Naples, Fla.) finished fifth in the men's shot put with a mark of 50-9.75. The effort improves his personal best, which was previously 50-7.50. He still sits fourth all-time in the men's indoor top five.

  • Jonah Daniels (Jacksonville, Fla.) finished second in the men's long jump with a distance of 23-3.5.
  • Bruce Robinson (Little Falls, N.Y.) was sixth in the shot put with a mark of 49-8.75.
  • Maurice Nock (Sanford, Fla.) placed fourth in the fast section of the 200 meters with a time of 22.26 seconds.
  • Curtis Thomas (Auburndale, Fla.) was fifth in the 200 meters with a time of 22.55 seconds.
 
Other Notable Women's Result
  • Freshman Kaitlyn Kirby (Tarpon Springs, Fla.) placed seventh in the long jump with a mark of 18-7.25.
