Jiggetts Named to American Weekly Honor Roll
TAMPA, JAN. 29, 2018 – Graduate guard Stephan Jiggetts (Forestville, Md.) was selected to the American Athletic Conference honor roll following a week that saw the Bulls go 1-1, including the team's first American Athletic Conference victory of the season.
Jiggetts led all Bulls scorers for the week, averaging 16.5 points in the two games. He shot 45 percent (9-for-20) from the field and was 13-for-17 from the free throw line in the two games. He also averaged 4.5 assists and three rebounds per game.
In USF's first conference win last Thursday at Tulane, Jiggetts scored a team-high 23 points and went 6-for-11 from the field. The 23 points are a season high and mark his fourth 20-plus point game of the season. He also added five assists in the game.
Jiggetts played all 40 minutes in the Tulane game and did not turn the ball over a single time. The game was the second time this season that he had played 40 or more minutes in a game without a turnover. He also accomplished the feat in the overtime game at Elon on Nov. 30, playing 41 minutes without a turnover.
Against Houston on Sunday, Jiggetts tied for the team lead with 10 points and had five rebounds and four assists. His five rebounds were tied for second on the team in the game and his four assists led all Bulls. He also made all four of his attempts from the free throw line in the game.
For the season, Jiggetts is second on the team in scoring, averaging 12.1 points per game. Jiggetts also leads the team with 3.4 assists per game, putting him 12th in the conference in assists. From the free throw line, he is shooting 84.2 percent (48-for-57), which is best on the team and third in the conference.
