Bulls Place 12 Marks on All-Time Top 10 Including USF Record on Friday
GAINESVILLE, April 13, 2018 – The Bulls had an exciting Friday at the Tom Jones Memorial in Gainesville that included a new USF record in the men's pole vault byÂ
David Bell and 12 total marks on the USF outdoor top-10Â charts.
A junior out of Jacksonville, Bell won the pole vault with a mark of 17-7.00, taking the school record by 2.75 inches. The previous USF outdoor record of 17-4.25 had stood for 14 years, set by Jonathon Miller in 2004. With his vault in Gainesville, Bell has now set both the indoor and outdoor school records in 2018. He set the USF indoor pole vault record at the Samford Invitational in February with a mark of 17-5.00.
In addition to Bell's record-setting performance and the 12Â marks on the all-time charts, the Bulls finished the one-day event at the University of Florida with eight top-five finishes.
The Bulls also had success in the women's pole vault, with junior
Nicole Carroll (Land O'Lakes, Fla.) placing second with a mark of 12-11.50. The vault is a personal best for Carroll and is the fifth-best mark on the USF outdoor charts.
Also on the field, junior
Jonah Daniels (Jacksonville, Fla.) took second in the men's long jump with a mark of 23-11.50.
Luke Lafferty (Manorville, N.Y.) was fifth in the event with a mark of 22-7.75.
On the track, junior
Jada Massie (Bradenton, Fla.) ran an impressive time in the women's 100 meters, setting a new personal best with a time of 11.51 seconds. The time was good for second among collegiate athletes and 10
th overall including the professional athletes that competed in the event. Massie also moved up three spots on the USF outdoor charts and now has the third-best 100 meter time in USF history.
In the women's 200 meters, junior
Chelsea Francis (Jacksonville, Fla.) improved her personal best time and moved into third place on the USF outdoor charts. Francis finished with a time of 23.54 second, which was fourth among collegiate athletes and ninth overall in the event.
On the men's side in the 200, sophomore
Maurice Nock (Sanford, Fla.) ran the second-fastest time in school history, 20.97 seconds. Nock finished seventh among collegiate athletes.
Other Notable Performances
- 400 METERS: Freshman Destiny Fairley (Jarrell, Texas) posted the fourth-best women's 400 meter time on the USF outdoor charts, running the event in a time of 54.60. She finished third among collegiate athletes and 11th overall in the event.
- 4x100 METER RELAY: The USF women's 4x100 meter relay team of Maya Fabri, Chelsea Francis, Destiny Fairley, and Jada Massie finished fifth with a time of 45.13 seconds. The time is the third-best in USF outdoor history. The men's 4x100 meter team of Maurice Nock, Tequon Terry, Curtis Thomas and Luke Lafferty finished with a time of 40.70, the fifth-best time in school outdoor history.
- POLE VAULT: David Bell wasn't the only one to make an appearance on the USF all-time outdoor top-10 charts in the men's pole vault. Junior Joe Fogarasi (Columbia, Conn.) moved into a tie for ninth place on the charts with a mark of 16-6.75. He was seventh overall in the event.
- HAMMER THROW: Junior Ashley Wilson (Tampa) finished fourth in the women's hammer throw with a mark of 185-01. The mark is a personal best and moves her up to fourth place on the USF outdoor charts.
- HIGH JUMP: Freshman Imani Carmouche finished third in the women's high jump with a mark of 5-6.00.
- LONG JUMP: Kaitlyn Gill (Charlotte, N.C.) improved her personal best mark in the women's long jump with a distance of 19-9.00. The mark is the fifth-best in USF outdoor history. Gill finished seventh in the event.
- SHOT PUT: Senior Zach Diaczynski finished fifth in the men's shot put with a mark of 51-0.00.
- TRIPLE JUMP: Junior D'Angelo Ennis (Kingston, Jamaica) was fifth in the men's triple jump with a mark of 50-2.50.
- HEPTATHLON: Freshman Kaitlyn Kirby (Tarpon Springs, Fla.) traveled to Knoxville, Tenn. to compete in the heptathlon at the Tennessee Relays. Her best two events were the shot put, where she placed third with a mark of 35-10.75, and the long jump, where she took fourth with a mark of 18-8.00.

The Bulls travel to Houston, Texas on Saturday, April 21 for the Rice Invitational. The event will be the team's seventh of eight regular season meets before the American Athletic Conference Outdoor Championships on May 11-13 in Cincinnati.
