Women's Tennis Signs Laura Pellicer Perello
Lauran Pellicer Perello (Valencia, Spain) is added to the 2018-2019 roster on Wednesday.
TAMPA (April 17, 2018) — USF women's tennis signed incoming freshman Laura Pellicer Perello from Valencia, Spain to the 2018-2019 roster on Wednesday afternoon.
"We are extremely excited to sign Laura to our team starting next season," said head coach
Cristina Moros. "She is a talented athlete, and person of high moral character. She has been one of the top juniors in Spain for most of her career all while excelling on the academic front."
Perello was ranked as high as No. 35 on the Spanish Open rankings, and she is in the top four in her age group. Throughout her playing career, during national and state tournaments, she has been one of the best amongst her peers. Most recently, Perello reached the quarterfinals in ITF pro events.
"She is the kind of person and player that will fit right in with our culture and will push her teammates to an even higher standard," said Moros. " I believe her and Amelie will make an immediate impact to our lineup and will represent USF with character and class. These two are very motivated to get started and to help make their team even better from the moment they step on campus."
