Sanchez Named to NFF Hampshire Honor Society
TAMPA, April 20, 2018 – Former USF standout linebacker
Auggie Sanchez (St. Petersburg, Fla.) has been named a 2018 member of the National Football Foundation Hampshire Honor Society.
The Hampshire Honor Society is comprised of college football players from all divisions who maintained a cumulative 3.2 GPA or better throughout their entire college careers and were significant contributors to their respective teams throughout the 2017 season.

Sanchez maintained a 3.58 undergraduate GPA at USF while earning his bachelor's degree in communications and is on course to earn his master's degree in physical education this spring with a 3.96 GPA. Sanchez earned the football team's Academic Excellence Award in 2015 and was named to the conference all-academic team three times.
The two-time team captain started 50 straight games at linebacker during his career to equal the USF program record. He led the Bulls in tackles with 84 in 2017 and added 10.0 tackles for loss and two interceptions, returning both for touchdowns. Sanchez was a three time all-conference honoree, earning first team honors in 2017, led USF in tackles for three straight seasons and his 120 tackles in 2016 rank as the second-most in a season at USF. He finished his career as the Bulls' all-time leading tackler with 388.
NFF Hampshire Honor Society members receive a certificate commemorating their achievement. The 2018 class marks the 12
th year that the National Football Foundation has honored student-athletes for their academic accomplishments.
