TAMPA, APRIL 20, 2018 – USF women's golf head coach Erika Brennan has brought more international talent to the Bulls' 2018-19 roster with the addition Sadie Dewinton-Davies, who has played on the Welsh national team.

"I am thrilled for Sadie to join us. She embodies exactly what we are looking for as we build this program," Brennan said. "She is a tremendous young lady that is of high moral character and she puts a premium on academic success. On the course, Sadie provides the type of consistency that we need in the lineup."

24800Dewinton-Davies is currently in the midst of her sophomore season at Western Texas College and she's built a lot of momentum for the NJCAA Championship in May. The Newtown, Wales native tied for first at the OBU Fall Invitational on Sept. 26 and posted four top-five performances with six top-25 finishes in her team's first nine events of the season.

Dewinton-Davis finished her freshman season with a 76.0 scoring average in 2016-17 with four top-five outings and nine top-10 finishes in 10 events. The promising talent captured the NJCAA Region 5 title, placed second at the Tyler Junior College Collegiate and tied for sixth at NJCAA nationals with rounds of 73-75-78-75.

Aside from her stellar play for Western Texas College, Dewinton-Davies has built quite the golf resume on the world stage. As a junior, she played for the Welsh national team in home internationals four times, including the prestigious European Team Championship. Dewinton-Davies also gained title-winning experience at the Welsh girls match play event.

"Her mental game is one of her biggest strengths and she has competed on the international stage as a junior on the Welsh national team," Brennan said. "She has proven her ability to win tournaments and that will serve her so well at this next level. We are excited for the future of our program, and Sadie will play an immediate role in that success."
