TAMPA (April 28, 2018) – USF trailed going into the seventh inning but rallied to load the bases and score one before falling to UCF, 5-1.
Seniors
Cassidy Boyle (Buchanan, N.Y.) and
Astin Donovan (Guilford, Conn.) each went 2-for-3 in the game, and the Bulls (33-19, 11-6) scattered a total of eight hits to match the Knights (31-20, 9-8).
USF was ready to rally in the seventh inning when sophomore
Brooke Hartman (Port Orange, Fla.) drew a walk, and advanced to second on a sacrifice bunt. Junior
Macy Cook (Uniontown, Ohio) and Boyle each singled to load the bases, and junior
Lindsey Devitt (Jacksonville, Fla.) hit an RBI single up the middle. Hartman scored on the play, and freshman
Kyndall Williams (Trenton, Fla.) who was in to pinch run was caught at home plate after the ball was thrown from center field.
