Bulls Weekly Highlights
  • The USF football spring game takes place 2 p.m. Saturday at Corbett Stadium. The free event for fans begins with a street fest, which starts at noon outside of Corbett Stadium.
  • USF softball grabbed sole possession of first place in The American standings over the weekend while Astin Donovan recorded her 200th-career hit.
  • USF volleyball will host its annual fundraising tournament this week while its online fundraising auction is underway now.

TAMPA, APRIL 9, 2018 – Take a look ahead at the week in USF Athletics and catch up on last week's action:

No. 21 Football
This Week: USF continues spring practice with morning sessions Tuesday and Thursday before Saturday's spring game, which kicks off at 2 p.m. at Corbett Stadium. Learn more about the spring game and the pregame street fest, both free for fans, HERE.

Last Week: USF completed its fourth week of spring practice with three sessions. Read about the final scrimmage before the spring game, USF's deep receiver group and the Bulls' swarming defense.

Need to Know: New season tickets for the 2018 football season will go on sale to all fans starting on Friday. Deposits of $50 are currently being accepted toward new season tickets and may be made by calling 1-800-Go-Bulls, visiting www.USFBullsTix.com or in-person at the USF Ticket Office (Lee Roy Selmon Athletic Center) Monday through Friday between the hours of 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.

No. 24 Women's Basketball
Last Week: USF held its annual end-of-year banquet on Sunday evening at the Columbia Restaurant to celebrate the 2017-18 season with family, friends and supporters. Learn more HERE.

Need to Know: Conference coach of the year Jose Fernandez's Bulls reached the NCAA tournament for the fourth straight season and fell one victory shy of matching the USF season wins record, going 26-8 on the year.

Men's Basketball
Need to Know: USF finished its first season under head coach Brian Gregory with 10 victories, which marked the program's most since winning 12 in 2013-14. Learn about what Gregory has planned for "phase two" of his program-building project HERE.

Softball (29-15, 7-2)
This Week: First-place USF continues conference play with a three-game series at Tulsa that begins Friday at 6 p.m. Saturday's game begins at 3 p.m. and Sunday's series finale is set for a 1 p.m. start in Oklahoma.

Last Week: USF took a conference series against Houston with 3-2 and 7-4 victories during a doubleheader on April 8… Freshman Georgina Corrick held Houston scoreless through six innings of a 9-1 loss on April 7.

Need to Know: Senior Astin Donovan recorded the 200th hit of her productive career in the second game of the Houston series. Read about Donovan's path to 200 hits HERE… Following a six-game road trip, the Bulls return to USF Softball Stadium to host rival UCF in a War on I-4 series April 27-29. Baseball (20-11, 5-4)
This Week: USF stays on the road to take on Stetson 6:30 p.m. Tuesday in DeLand, Fla. … The Bulls wrap up a seven-game road trip with a three-game series at No. 12 East Carolina that begins Friday at 6:30 p.m. Saturday's game begins at 4 p.m. and Sunday's series finale is set for noon in Greenville, N.C.

Last Week: USF dropped a back-and-forth battle at Houston, 9-8, on April 8, which marked the Bulls' first series loss since opening weekend… Peter Strzelecki gave the Bulls 8.1 quality innings in a 1-0 loss to the Cougars on April 7… USF opened the series with a 9-6 victory on April 6.

Need to Know: After the seven-game road trip concludes, the Bulls return to USF Baseball Stadium to host North Florida on Tuesday, April 17 at 6:30 p.m. Purchase tickets at USFBullsTix.com.

Track and Field
This Week: USF continues outdoor season at the Tom Jones Invitational on Friday in Gainesville, Fla.

Need to Know: Tickets are officially on sale for the 2018 NCAA Division I Men's and Women's Track and Field East Preliminary, set for May 24-26 at USF Track & Field Stadium. Learn more HERE.

No. 19 Men's Golf
Next Event: Old Waverly Collegiate April 16-17 in West Point, Miss.

Need to Know: USF is ranked 19th nationally by Golfstat with four tournament victories this season. The Bulls are one more tournament title win away from matching the program's season record of five set in 2014-15.

Women's Golf
This Week: USF wraps up the regular season at the Dale McNamara Invitational Monday and Tuesday in Tulsa, Okla. Get live scoring HERE.

Need to Know: Following the Dale McNamara Invitational, USF will tee off at the American Athletic Conference Championship April 15-17 in Palm Coast, Fla.

Women's Tennis (11-9, 4-2)
This Week: USF will finish up the regular season with a test against Florida International in Miami on Friday at 1 p.m.

Last Week: USF took the doubles point before falling to Rice, 4-3, in the Bulls' Senior Day match on April 8… USF's nine-match winning streak came to an end with a 4-1 loss to No. 22 UCF on April 4.

Need to Know: USF has partnered with Team IMPACT to sign 10-year old Elizabeth Jones, who joined the Bulls as an honorary member. Elizabeth is valiantly battling a chronic illness and was recently welcomed into the USF family during a special signing ceremony. Learn more about the event HERE.

Men's Tennis (7-15, 1-3)
This Week: The Bulls wrap up the regular season with a War on I-4 match at UCF on Sunday at 5:30 p.m.

Last Week: Peter Bertran's singles win highlighted USF's 6-1 loss at No. 26 Tulane on April 8… USF started its week with a 4-0 loss to Memphis on April 6.

Volleyball
This Week: The USF Volleyball Annual Golf Outing is set for Friday at Bardmoor Golf & Country Club in Seminole, Fla. All proceeds benefit the USF volleyball program. Learn more about the event and get registration info HERE… Fans also can support the Bulls by taking part in the USF Volleyball Auction online now through Wednesday. All proceeds benefit the USF volleyball program.

Need to Know: USF summer camps will take place May 29 through July 28 and are designated for players ranging from ages 6-18. Learn more HERE.

About USF Athletics
USF Athletics sponsors 19 varsity men's and women's teams that compete in 11 different sports, 18 at the NCAA Division I level in the American Athletic Conference. The Bulls' athletic program celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2015, having begun with a men's soccer contest in 1965. Nearly 500 student-athletes train and compete in the athletic district located on the east end of the campus in Tampa, Fla. The Bulls have claimed 12 American Athletic Conference team titles since joining the conference in 2013, including four in 2016-17, and own 109 conference championships overall. Ten USF programs reached national post-season competition in the 2016-17 season and nine were ranked in the Top 25 nationally. The Bulls posted a program-record 86 percent Graduation Success Rate (2016) in the last reporting, logged an annual department grade-point average over a 3.0 for the second straight year and saw 106 student-athletes earn their degree during the 2016-17 academic period.
