Named Conference USA Player of the Decade in 2004, Michelle Collier remains the most accomplished Bull in USF volleyball history after shining for the program from 1998-2002.

Seventeen years after her collegiate career ended, the first All-American in USF volleyball history still owns seven school records, including career kills (2,749), career digs (1,747), season kills (760, 2000), season kills per set (6.28, 2000) and season attacks (1,873, 2000). Collier also set two program match records with 41 kills and 106 attacks against Louisville on No. 10, 2000.

Collier, whose No. 10 jersey hangs in The Corral, guided the Bulls to a 120-48 record over her four seasons, which included three NCAA tournament appearances, two Conference USA titles and one C-USA tournament crown. The two-time Conference USA Player of the Year still sits atop the C-USA career chart with 2,729 kills.

As a senior, Collier picked up her second C-USA Player of the Year honor and became the first player in Conference USA history to gain all-conference first team distinction four times. The first All-American in USF and C-USA volleyball history (AVCA Third Team All-America) also was an all-conference tournament player three times. Collier was named C-USA Player of the Decade, as voted unanimously by all C-USA coaches, in 2004.

Before accomplishing all those incredible feats, Collier was named C-USA Freshman of the Year and a first team all-conference selection in 1998. After a knee injury forced her to miss the 1999 season, Collier returned better than ever to earn C-USA Player of the Year honors as just a redshirt sophomore in 2000.

Following her professional volleyball career, Collier returned to her alma mater as an assistant coach from 2008-09. Collier has been Georgia Tech’s head coach since 2014 after making her collegiate head coaching debut at Jacksonville from 2012-13.

Collier became the first volleyball player to be inducted into the USF Athletics Hall of Fame in 2011.
