January 09, 2007 | Football
TAMPA, FLA. (January 9, 2007) ? With 17 points in the final Associated Press Poll, the 9-4 USF Bulls are 29th in the nation. With only five starting seniors in 2006, the Bulls will look to make a run at their first top 25 ranking ever at the I-A level in 2007.
USF gained national attention in its final two games of the 2006 season, first defeating seventh ranked West Virginia on the road. The Bulls then ran away from East Carolina with a 24-7 win in the Papajohns.com Bowl. The seven points allowed in that game tied Maryland (Purdue) and Southern Miss (Ohio) the lowest points allowed in any bowl game.
