TAMPA -- Phil Steele has released his midseason all-BIG EAST team and several Bulls are among those earning acclaim.

Matt Grothe, Ryan Schmidt, George Selvie and Tyrone McKenzie all earned first team honors.  Mike Ford, Carlton Williams, Nate Allen and Jerome Murphy landed on the second team and the pass-catching foursome of Cedric Hill, A.J. ? Senior LB Brouce Mompremier told GoUSFBulls.com on Tuesday, that he made through a day of contact and, "It was good because I wasn't hesistant. I'm just going to take it one day at a time and sees what happens next."

The Miami native is recovering from a neck injury (neuropraxia), but has not been cleared yet for a return to game action.  Check out the entire exclusive video here.

? More on Mompremier... We wrote on Monday about the new inspiration saying, "Earn every breath he gives you," which adores a light post at practice.  The motviational phrase actually came from a tatoo on Mompremier's arm.  Coach Leavitt noticed the tatoo when Mompremier was down on the field at FIU and thought it incredibly appropriate for the situation and a good life lesson for the team.

? The Gator Bowl and title sponsor Konica Minolta will have 10-plus representatives at the USF-Syracuse game this weekend. The Gator Bowl has the first selection of BIG EAST teams at the conclusion of each season. During the four years of the deal, the BIG EAST (or Notre Dame) will send a team to both the Gator Bowl and the Sun Bowl twice.
