Steele's Complete All-BIG EAST Teams
TAMPA -- The BIG EAST season may not be over yet, but the All-BIG EAST awards are rolling out. Phil Steele is the first to make his awards public and he has nine Bulls on his three deep All-BIG EAST teams.
Three Bulls - Tyrone McKenzie, George Selvie and Carlton Williams - were named to the All-BIG EAST first team defense. Jessie Hester (WR), Ryan Schmidt and Dontavia Bogan (KR) were named to the second team offense. Matt Grothe, Cedric Hill and Taurus Johnson picked up third team offensive honors, while Jerome Murphy was selected for the third-team defense.
Of the USF honorees, five are seniors, three are juniors and one is a sophomore.
The conference awards come hours after the announcement that Selvie was a repeat first team All-American by the American Football Coaches Association. The junior defensive end is the first player in program history to repeat as an All-American.
The Bulls close out the regular season at West Virginia Saturday at 8 p.m. Eastern on ESPN2.
USF is also awaiting a bowl invitation, but fans don't need to wait to secure their tickets. USF is encouraging fans to reserve tickets now and guarantee the best seats within the school's allotment.
