
USF Sailing Bests Two Ranked Teams

TAMPA, Fla. -- The Bulls sailing team bested two ranked teams, including No. 2 College of Charleston, in route to a fourth place finish in the USF Intersectional this weekend.
"We are not ranked right now, but after this showing we certainly hope to move in the rankings next month," said USF head coach Allison Jolly.
Kim Witkowski '09 sailed with crews Steph Reynolds '11 and Elizabeth Foy '08 and ended up 5th in A division. Rachael Silverstein '11 sailed with crews Ash Landes '09 and Darby Smith '11 and ended up 3rd in B division.
Saturday Highlights: Nine teams enjoyed balmy Florida weather, highs near 80 degrees, 4-6 knot northeasterly breezes. Four races were sailed in each division, modified W-L and modified triangles.
Sunday Highlights: Sailing resumed with a 6 knot southeasterly for most of the day. The predicted breeze finally arrived, and the last sets had gusts 18-20. Stanford for pulled off the triple victory, claiming first place in both divisions - A & B - and the overall title.
