NC State's Top Players NC State has had two quarterbacks play in all four games in redshirt freshman Russell Wilson and junior transfer Harrison Beck. Wilson has started three games, missing all but one snap (a hold) of the William & Mary game due to a concussion suffered in the season opener. Wilson is 32-57 with 3 TDs and 1 interception on the year. Beck is 25-44 with 2 TDs and 3 interceptions. Senior running back Andre Brown leads the Wolfpack on the ground with 281 yards on 64 carries and 2 TDs. He also has 10 receptions and 1 TD. Tight end George Bryan leads the team with 13 receptions and 2 TDs, while 13 players have caught at least one pass. Junior running back Jamelle Eugene made his first appearance of the year and caught 7 passes. Sophomore linebacker Nate Irving leads NC State with 33 tackles on the year. The Series This is the second all-time meeting between USF and NC State, and the first regular season meeting. The Wolfpack beat the Bulls 14-0 in the Meineke Car Care Bowl in Charlotte in 2005. It was USF's first bowl appearance.

Wolfpack Upsets East Carolina Andre Brown jumped over one defender, then ran over another. Nothing was going to stop him from possibly saving North Carolina State's season -- especially not ranked rival East Carolina. Brown's 10-yard touchdown run in overtime lifted NC State to a 30-24 upset of the 15th-ranked Pirates on Saturday. Russell Wilson threw three touchdown passes -- including a tying 5-yarder to George Bryan with 1:12 left in regulation for the Wolfpack (2-2). The seven-point underdogs hung around all afternoon and never trailed by more than a touchdown in rallying for Tom O'Brien's most impressive win at NC State. The Pirates didn't, and now their BCS-busting hopes are all but over. Patrick Pinkney was 19-of-32 passing for 210 yards and a touchdown for East Carolina (3-1), but he was stripped by Shea McKeen on East Carolina's third play in overtime, giving NC State a shot at the upset. Brown then hurdled defender J.J. Milbrook during the remarkable 16-yard run that set up the winning score. On the next play, he powered through defensive lineman Jay Ross while extending the ball over the goal line to end the game. Brown finished with 73 yards and a 4-yard touchdown reception from Wilson, a redshirt freshman making his first home start. He went 21-for-31 for 210 yards and added a 20-yard TD toss to Jarvis Williams. O'Brien's welcomed running back Jamelle Eugene, who missed the previous three games with an ankle injury. Eugene caught a team-best seven passes for 50 yards in his season debut.
Floridians Dot NC State Roster As with most non-Florida teams in the south, there are usually a large number of Floridians on their roster and NC State is no different. The Wolfpack has 15 players from Florida on their roster, including a few from the greater Tampa Bay area. USF has 95 Floridians on its roster.
