PITT Rallies Past Syracuse, 34-24 LaRod Stephens-Howling scored two touchdowns in the fourth quarter, Conor Lee kicked four field goals, and Pittsburgh rallied past Syracuse 34-24 on Saturday in the Big East opener for both teams. Pittsburgh (3-1), which lost its season opener after starting the season ranked No. 25, scored on all four of its possessions in the second half to hand Greg Robinson his 20th loss in 22 conference games since taking over three-plus years ago as head coach at Syracuse (1-4). Cam Dantley was 9-for-17 for 137 yards passing and two TDs and Curtis Brinkley had 119 yards rushing on 16 carries for Syracuse. Bill Stull finished 17-for-29 for 166 yards and one score. LeSean McCoy finished with a season-high 149 yards rushing, his first 100-yard game of the season, Stephens-Howling had 71 yards on 13 carries. Derek Kinder had eight catches for 92 yards to move into 10th place in Pitt history with 114 receptions.
