?
USF football radio broadcasts have been picked up by Sirius Satellite radio, thanks to the athletic department's partnership with ISP Sports.  This weekend's game at UCF can be heard on Channel 125.  The channel may change from game-to-game.  USF will include the accurate channel information in its game notes and Gameday Central on GoUSFBulls.com.

? Alan Dell of the Herald Tribune writes about senior Jarriet Buie. "It is not easy being Jarriett Buie. The University of South Florida defensive end gets a lot of dirty work and few accolades."

Brett McMurphy takes one last look leading up to the last installment of the Battle of I-4. "Because the University of South Florida will end its series with UCF after tonight, some have questioned why the Bulls don't want to continue playing a school 100 miles away."

?
Greg Auman previews the game and what to watch in tonight's game.

? Auman also writes the good and bad of the UCF rivalry.

? The Sporting News spotlights tonight's game.

?
Ryan Boyd of the Brandenton Herald writes that the rivalry just hasn't developed. "Today, perhaps, marks the curtain call on a budding in-state rivalry. Three years ago, South Florida and UCF began a four-year home-and-home football series in hopes of sparking stiff competition and fan interest between the two schools situated only 90 miles apart."

What are they saying in Orlando?

?
Mike Bianchi from the Orlando Sentinel writes ""This last go-around is about redemption for last year when USF took away UCF's manhood," Chad wrote. "This time it's not about who is better on paper, who is in the BCS, who has a ranked team. It's not about the point spread or who went to No. 2 nationally. It's not about the fans, alumni nor curious onlookers. This game is about vindication, retribution and payback. Like the guy who gets the chance to come face to face with the housewrecker who stole his wife. Like the caged dog who gets teased daily by the neighborhood bully and finally gets loose one day. Like the down-and-out hobo who gets his whiskey stolen off the caboose and goes into a blind rage. Like the alley rat trapped by 10 fat cats and now must bite. Like the outraged fire ants whose home is destroyed by the tennis shoe of an unruly teenager. Like the cold and fierce iceberg lying in wait for the unsinkable Titanic to arrive and challenge it. Indeed, this time it's more than a game, it's now just personal."

? Iliana Limon from The Orlando Sentinel writes ""I don't want to say that we were too laid back last year, but I can tell we're a lot more aggressive this year," senior safety Jason Venson said. "We're ready to step up and accept that challenge. We're ready to lead this team.""

? Greg Auman documents senior cornerback Tyller Roberts' return home to Orlando for the UCF game. "Of anywhere USF football can play, Orlando might be the city most brimming with contempt for the Bulls, the one place USF is truly the most hated of rivals. If there's an eye in that storm, a small island of unexpected Bulls loyalists, it's in Eatonville."

?
Oracle writer and St. Petersburg Times Correspondant Joe Renzi details coach Leavitts post practice comments.

?
A quick look at men's soccer, as Soccer America's Paul Kennedy writes that the 14th ranked Bulls are a "HOT" pick  for men's national champions as they travel to  South Bend, Ind., to face No. 3 Indiana and No. 13 Notre Dame at the Mike Berticelli Memorial Tournament. ""If you let them get into rhythm," says Indiana's Mike Freitag, "they will carve you up.""

? Ryan Boyd of the Brandenton Herald writes about Tyrone McKenzie. "Tyrone McKenzie doesn't mind tough love. Especially if it's similar to the kind that helped his maturation into manhood and made him a Big East second-team defensive selection as a junior linebacker for South Florida's football team last season. He knows no other way."

? Joe Henderson of of the Tampa Tribune states that "USF is moving on."

?
Brett McMurphy's daily notebook.

? Padrick Brewer of the Central Florida Future writes about the the one sided affair that has been USF-UCF rivalry. "Though some UCF fans consider USF a rival, the series so far has been a one-sided affair."

? Ryan Boyd of the Brandenton Herald features senior cornerback Tyller Roberts. ? John Denton of Florida Today highlights the match-up between George Selvie and UCF left tackle Patrick Brown. " UCF left tackle Patrick Brown and USF defensive end George Selvie are mostly polar opposites on the football field, but their collisions Saturday night at Bright House Networks Stadium will likely decide the outcome between the Knights (1-0) and the Bulls (1-0)."

? Iliana Limon from The Orlando Sentinel writes that UCF is using last year as motivation. "Everything changed on a long, quiet bus ride. The UCF football team had just suffered arguably the worst loss in the program's history, a 64-12 blowout at South Florida."

? ESPN.com's BIG EAST blogger Brian Bennett ranks the USF defense as one of the best in the BIG EAST. Also writes, that the Bulls are looking for consistent domination.

? Quotes from UCF head coach George O'Leary

? Brett McMurphy writes; "When they came to the University of South Florida, the Bulls had not played Central Florida. Now five years later, 14 USF seniors hope to walk off the Bright House Networks Stadium field in Orlando having not lost to UCF."

? McMurphy also write about the captain of the receivers, senior Marcus Edwards. "For University of South Florida receivers coach Mike Canales, it's more than a nickname he has given to senior Marcus Edwards, it's the ultimate compliment: Cap."

? St. Petersburg Times writer Izzy Gould discusses UCF after the 2007 game. "The Knights (1-0) had made a big fuss over being on par with the Bulls (1-0). They poked and prodded them about extending a four-game series, and in the end were gored all over the field."

? Greg Auman writes in his daily notebook; "But as Bulls assistant Troy Douglas charted and graded the game tape, he was impressed by another staggering number: USF had 19 knockdown blocks on those 10 punt returns, led by six from LB Tyrone McKenzie, four from RB Jamar Taylor and two from CB Jerome Murphy."

? Check out Auman's Blog

? Iliana Limon from The Orlando Sentinel writes that all aspects of the rivalry are heating up. "The UCF-USF rivalry has gotten so heated, even ticket sales are a point of contention between the two schools."

?

?
ESPN.com's BIG EAST blogger Brian Bennett weighs in on the USF-UCF rivalry."Still, both programs are rising. South Florida has started to earn a permanent address in the Top 25, while Central Florida won Conference USA last year and plays in a new on-campus stadium. The two schools are separated by fewer than 100 miles on Florida's I-4 corridor."

? Alan Dell of the Herald Tribune writes about the offensive line's offseason diet. "But that's not what University of South Florida football coaches have in mind. They want their guys up front leaner and quicker off the ball.So they did something about it. The sent the Bulls' offensive linemen to "diet school" during the offseason. The goal was to trim off body fat and excess weight so USF's spread offense would run more efficiently.

? John Denton of the Fort Myers News Press writes of the Bulls 64-12 thumping of UCF in 2007. "As if getting thumped by 52 points by the cross-state rival wasn't bad enough for Central Florida last season, the manner in which South Florida rolled up the rout also irked some of the Knights' players."

Coach Leavitt's Post Practice Interview

? Brett McMurphy breaks down Coach Leavitt's career at USF. "Jim Leavitt hit 80 Saturday - 80 wins, that is. Back on Dec. 12, 1995, Leavitt was hired at the University of South Florida, but didn't coach his first game until Sept. 6, 1997. In that inaugural game against Kentucky Wesleyan, Leavitt's Bulls debuted with 80 points. Now he's finally reached 80 again, picking up his 80th victory Saturday in the Bulls' 56-7 win against Tennessee Martin."

Check out Greg Auman's Blog.

Jeff Berlinicke of the Fort Myers Press writes of Mo Plancher's performance against UT-Martin. "University of South Florida running back Moise Plancher took a handoff midway through the third quarter in Saturday's game against Tennessee-Martin and ran 34 yards for a touchdown. For USF fans, it was the sixth touchdown in a game against an overmatched foe, but for Plancher it was much more."

Iliana Limon of the Orlando Sentinel discusses this weeks game as UCF tries for revenge. "They all smiled mischievously the moment they heard the letters USF. Moments after beating Division I-AA South Carolina State, UCF football players were finally allowed to talk about the biggest rematch of the season."

Limon also writes that UCF played it safe in their 17-0 win against South Carolina State and will look to pass more agaisnt USF. "UCF Coach George O'Leary said he told offensive coordinator Tim Salem to keep the Knights' game plan against the Bulldogs simple so that he could evaluate newcomers, including four freshman running backs and first-time starting QB Michael Greco."

GoUSFBulls.com has a ton of coverage from Saturday's season opening 56-7 win.  We have an extensive photo gallery and if you like any of those images, you can go into the USF Photo Store and purchase prints right now.  We also posted a ton of highlights on Sunday, including individual clips of Mo Plancher, Jessie Hester, Mike Ford, Ben Williams, A.J. Love, Dontavia Bogan, Matt Grothe and the stout USF defense.  We have also already posted the Gameday Central for UCF and will have a USF preview and UCF preview online in the next 24 hours.

Brett McMurphy writes. "Any concerns about how the University of South Florida would handle its first preseason ranking in school history disappeared in five minutes."

David Whitley of the Orlando Sentinel adds a little fuel to fire to USF-UCF rivalry. " The bottom line is a natural rival like UCF is being replaced by teams like Western Kentucky and Ball State. It's so preposterous that you could call the Bulls a bunch of lily-livered thong-wearing girlie men."

Tom Zebold of The Ledger writes of the Bulls' Special Teams. "Explosive is the kind of word to describe South Florida's first quarter against Tennessee-Martin on Saturday night."

Greg Auman writes about last year's UCF game. "Saturday's 56-7 win against Tennessee-Martin was decided early enough that most of USF's starters were able to watch the second half from the sidelines, and the margin of victory was USF's largest since last year's 64-12 win against Central Florida."

ESPN.com blogger Brian Bennett tells us what we learned about USF and the rest of the BIG EAST.
