TAMPA -- The Worldwide Leader in Sports is showing the USF football program some love this week.
ESPN the Magazine writer Wright Thompson is in town working on an extensive feature story on George Selvie. The feature is due to run in the next issue of the Magazine. Thompson is honing in on the daily diet of Selvie and what it takes to add and sustain weight as a college athlete.
We won't give away his story, but it should be both entertaining and informative
Along with Thompson, ESPN sent a one-woman camera crew from New York to document the interviews for ESPN and most likely College Football Gameday. The video portion does not have firm date for release yet.
Selvie also went behind the still camera lens with renowned local photographer Bob Croslin for a short photo shoot that will supply the art for Thompson's feature story.
Selvie's mother, Twana, was in town for the UCF game and hung out with her son all day Sunday. She played a part in the photo shoot and interviews as well and became a favorite of the media crew.
And finally USF quarterback Matt Grothe will be guest on ESPN College Football Live this week. His interview will be taped on Monday and will run as early as Monday afternoon or later in the week.
Grothe was awared a Helmet Sticker by the ESPN College Football crew last night and his game winning touchdown pass was named the Big East Pontiac Game Changing Performance of the Week.
The No. 19/18 Bulls host the No. 13/11 Kansas Jayhawks on Friday night at 8 p.m. on ESPN2. The battle of 2-0 teams is one of only three games between ranked opponents this weekend.
