TAMPA -- It was only 4 o'clock in the afternoon and the Bulls had already been going for nine or 10 hours.
USF players, coaches, administrators, hall of famers, cheerleaders, Sun Dolls and Rocky The Bull all hit the pavement this morning for 'Breakfast with the Bulls.'
"What a fantastic day for the Bulls and for the Tampa Bay community," said USF Executive Associate AD Bill McGillis. "The 'Breakfast with the Bulls' got off to a great start with a 'Paint Tampa Bay Green Tour' of nearly every morning television and radio station in Tampa Bay and just got better from there.
"Coach Leavitt, Doug, Lee Roy, our cheerleaders, Sun Dolls and Rocky had a great time sharing the story of 'The Next Big Game in USF History' with fans throughout the community. One of our objectives today was to make sure that the community understood the importance of this football game to our program and to Tampa Bay; how great a football team the University of Cincinnati will be bringing to Raymond James Stadium on Thursday, and the tremendous impact a huge crowd can have on our team's opportunity for success.
"Of special significance, several members of the Bulls football team visited Pizzo Elementary and the Shriners Hospital for Children and enjoyed the very rewarding experience of spending time with kids in our community," continued McGillis. "It was a very meaningful day for everyone involved."
Events were hosted all over the Tampa Bay community (list is below) in an effort to rally support for the HUGE Thursday night showdown between No. 21 USF and No. 8/9 Cincinnati.
Tickets are still available for as little as $10 or for USF faculty and staff at a Two-For-One Exclusive Ticket deal.
In addition to visting several local business and television stations, cheerleaders and Sun Dolls were dispatched to Clear Channel, Cox, CBS and Genesis radio affiliates throughout the area.
