TAMPA - Thanks to the latest round of college football polls, the scene has been set for arguably the biggest college football game in Tampa history on Oct. 15
USF is ranked No. 24 in the USA Today Coaches poll that was announced Sunday afternoon, while its' Oct. 15 opponent Cincinnati is ranked No. 10.
The AP voters like the two schools even more, ranking USF No. 23 and Cincinnati No. 8.
The Bulls and Bearcats will play in front of a national television audience in 11 days. ESPN and the primetime Thursday night crew of Chris Fowler, Erin Andrews, Jesse Palmer and Craig James will broadcast the BIG EAST Conference showdown live from Raymond James Stadium. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m.
USF has been ranked in 20 of the last 39 polls, including being ranked for nine weeks in 2007 and being ranked for 10 weeks in 2008.
USF owns an all-time record of 11-7 when ranked, but perhaps more importantly, USF has won five consecutive games against ranked opponents. The streak dates back to a 2006 win at West Virginia. USF is 2-0 all-time when both teams enter the game ranked.
