Junior wide receiver Carlton Mitchell is having arguably the best season of his career with 29 receptions for a career high 542 yards and four touchdowns.
Can Mitchell break the USF career record for receiving yards in just his junior year? All he needs is one long pass from B.J. Daniels. With 1,484 career yards, he is just 40 shy of breaking Hugh Smith's record of 1,523.
Where he has already set himself apart from Smith is in his average yards per reception. Mitchell is averaging 15.8 yards per catch over his career and 18.7 this season, while Smith tallied 11.6 during his time in Tampa.
