TAMPA -- USF head coach Jim Leavitt cut the football team's Saturday morning practice short from the scheduled one hour and 45 minutes to just under 75 minutes.
"We worked the young guys and had an efficient practice," said Leavitt. "There was a lot of energy and good focus. I was impressed with their efforts on a Saturday morning. We will be back out here, getting after it tomorrow."
Leavitt excused his 16 member senior class from practice on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Seven of the seniors were taking part in graduation on Saturday. Two others, Jessie Hester and George Selvie, already have their degrees, while Leavitt said he expects the other eight to complete their degree work in the spring or summer.
USF will return to the practice field at 2 p.m. on Sunday and will practice for approximately 75 minutes.
The Bulls will not practice on Monday or Tuesday of next week, but will be back on the fields on Wednesday, Dec. 16.
