TAMPA - Thanks to the generous donations of USF alumni, the Strength & Conditioning Nutrition Station has been launched, giving student-athletes full access to pre- and post-workout supplements to aid in their quest to be faster and stronger.
"With the completion of our Nutrition Station, we have strengthened our emphasis on nutrition with our student-athletes and the importance of being educated when it comes to the health of their bodies," said Head Strength & Conditioning Coach Ron McKeefery.
The Nutrition Station, located within the USF Strength and Conditioning Room inside the USF Athletics Building, offers a fully stocked, open-faced commercial brand refrigerator with Nesquik chocolate and strawberry milks for post-workout recovery, shelving for energy bars and Collegiate Muscle Milk, as well as four blenders and three slush machines for dispensing Powerade.
"This station is as good as any in the country and will serve our student-athletes like never before," said McKeefery. "We have made a statement with this station that nutrition is important to our student-athletes."
In addition to the nutrition area, the hydration station offers two smaller refrigerators for Nesquik milk, an ice machine and a fully serviceable dishwasher.
The station was built thanks to the donations of former student-athletes, including a large donation from former Bull and current NFL defensive back Anthony Henry, whose jersey number and signature adorns the top of the station.
