Day 3 Video: Pierre-Paul & Wilson in Back Flip Competition
TORONTO - The USF football team held its final practice of the 2009 season on Thursday morning at the Rogers Centre.
The Bulls spent the first portion of practice working on special teams before going into 7-on-7 and middle drill and concluding with the two-minute drill. Now all that is left before gameday on Saturday (Jan. 2) is a walk-through on New Year's Day morning.
The team will visit the Hockey Hall of Fame this afternoon before preparing for New Year's Eve festivities inside the team hotel. The program is hosting a private dinner and entertainment for the team, staff and families at the Westin Harbour Castle.
As preparation winds down, the team is loose and focusing in on the task at hand. The Northern Illinois Huskies will provide a unique challenge to USF and the players are ready to close the practice field and hit the field turf for gameday.
BackflipsAfter the final practice of the season we convinced
Kion Wilson and
Jason Pierre-Paul to battle it out in a back-flip competition. The winner would be the player that did the most consecutive back flips in a row.
The back flips have been one of the mythical stories around Pierre-Paul since he came to campus. He can do one standing still in shoulder pads, today he squared off with Wilson doing back-hand springs.
The consensus among the team was that Pierre-Paul would win, but Wilson threw out the guarantee that, "whatever the number I will do one more than him."
Wilson's guarantee was wrong... way wrong.
Pierre-Paul busted out 13 consecutive back handsprings and set the bar high for Wilson, who knocked out seven but stalled early into his repetitions.

Saying GoodbyesThe team was excited about the final practice of the season and celebrated in unique ways.
As backup kicker
Delbert Alvarado hit a 40 yard field goal to end the final two minute drill, the defensive line had loaded up a Powerade jug to dump on position coach
Kevin Patrick.
Right as Patrick put his hands in the air to signify a made field goal, he was doused with ice cold water.
The linebackers tackled position coach
David Blackwell and
Kion Wilson after their final meeting. Defensive coordinator and secondary coach
Joe Tresey watched as his counterpart was tackled and quickly backed away from his position group meeting. He was successful in avoided the player celebrations that took down Blackwell and Patrick.
