TAMPA - The University of South Florida Athletics Department and ISP Sports are proud to unveil the USF football radio network for the 2009 season.
Once again, the Bulls can be heard on flagship station 970 WFLA AM throughout the Tampa Bay area. USF will also be carried live on 10 other Florida based outlets and nationally through Sirius Satellite Radio.
The new additions to the USF radio affiliate lineup are 640 WMEN in Royal Palm Beach and 1560 WINT in Melbourne.
Fans will hear the familiar voices of play-by-play man Jim Louk and color commentator Mark Robinson, who have been in the USF radio booth since the football program's first season in 1997.
On the sidelines for his ninth season will be 1010 AM's Mike Pepper. Pepper is a former USF soccer player that can be heard every morning on WQYK AM with Jim Lighthall.
Lighthall will be back for his 13th season of USF football as the pre-and-post-game host. In addition to his football duties, Lighthall has been member of the USF basketball broadcast team for 13 years and will return as the play-by-play man in 2008-09.
For the second conseutive season, Lighthall will host the two-hour pre-game show. The pre-game show will be the centerpiece of the Bulls Zone interactive and tailgating area outside Raymond James Stadium.
The post-game show will run for approximately 30 minutes again this season and will include the exclusive interview with Coach Leavitt, players and call-ins.
Justin Pawlowski will be the co-host on pre and postgame shows alongside Lighthall. He has been with 620 WDAE for six years. After playing collegiate football for The University of Connecticut, Justin returned to Tampa and started "The Blitz" on the student run radio station at USF. In addition to "The Blitz", Justin is the executive for "The Ron and Ian Show” on 620.
Quartaro is the resident X-and-O's expert on the team. Quartaro has coached in the college ranks for most of his adult life and was most recently the associate head coach and offensive coordinator at Kansas.
The final and perhaps most integral returning piece of the broadcast team is engineer Ed Pendino, who guarantees that the broadcast get on the airwaves and comes off without a hitch each and every week.
The games are broadcast by the USF/ISP Sports Network.
