Gameday Primer: Lots of News Nuggets for Season Opener

TAMPA – The beginning week of college football is a hectic time and that has certainly been true on GoUSFBulls.com and throughout the halls of the USF Athletics Department.

So with that we bring you the first Gameday Primer.  The goal of the Gameday Primer is to provide a recap of all the news from the week, especially the nuggets that you might have missed.

Tailgating & Parking Time: The parking lots for Wofford and Charleston Southern will open at 2 p.m. Eastern, five hours before kickoff. Do you  have your charcoal yet?

Captains: Coach Leavitt announced that seniors Matt Grothe, George Selvie, Kion Wilson and Mo Plancher will be the team captains in the opener.  The captains will change on a game-by-game basis.

Tickets Available: Single game and season tickets are still available… by calling 1-800-GoBulls or by purchasing online.

Honoring Dorsey:  The Bulls will honor former player Keeley Dorsey throughout the 2009 season by wearing his No. 10 jersey.  The first player to don the jersey will be senior defensive lineman Aaron Harris.

Moment of Silence For Bleakley, Cooper and Smith: USF will also hold a pregame moment of silence in honor of alum Will Bleakley,  Marquis Cooper and Corey Smith, who passed away on a boating expedition earlier this year.

Tons of Great Prizes & Promotions: Make sure you check out the promotions page before you head to Raymond James Stadium.  Set your gameplan to win a ton of prizes!!!!

TV Information: Set your TIVO to Bright House Sports Network or ESPN Gameplan.  If you work on Saturday nights, go ahead and sneak some peaks at the game live on ESPN360.com.

Live Sports Radio: This product is super cool.  USF and Live Sports Radio have partnered to offer real-time radio to fans inside Raymond James Stadium and every road stadium this season.  It will work for basketball too and only costs $20 for the entire year.

Senior with Class: George Selvie is up for the prestigious Lowe's Senior Class Award, which goes to the football player that excels both on and off the field.

2009 Theme Song:  Last year Delbert Alvarado brought us the USF inspired Can You Feel It? This year he teamed up with Mike Ford, Theo Wilson and Kenneth Luberice on the Point of No Return.  Watch & Listen on YouTube.

BullsVision Exclusives:  We were able to get several exclusive one-on-ones with starters at the Tuesday press conference.  They have been up on GoUSFBulls.com for couple days, but we never promoted them… so enjoy:
