TAMPA - Sophomore quarterback BJ Daniels of the University of South Florida football team has been named this week's BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week following his four-touchdown performance in the Bulls' 38-30 win at Cincinnati Friday night.
Daniels went 13-of-16 (81.3%) for 286 yards and two TDs, while rushing for 35 yards and two TDs. The win snapped Cincinnati's 13-game BIG EAST winning streak and its 14-game home winning streak.
Daniels' four total TDs were a career high and his 286 yards passing were the second most in his career. He threw TD passes of 70 and 31 yards, and also had completions of 64 and 39 yards on the day. Overall, he finished with a 272.7 QB rating, which ranks has the most efficient day of his career.
Rounding out the weekly winners, Syracuse linebacker Doug Hogue picked up the dDefensive honors and Louisville kicker Chris Philpott was tabbed the honoree from the special teams for the week ending Oct. 23.

Armon Binns, WR, Cincinnati - Had 12 receptions for 158 yards and two touchdowns in a 38-30 loss to USF.
Hakeem Smith, S, Louisville - Had eight tackles and a forced fumble in a 26-0 win against Connecticut, Louisville's second shutout in the last three games.
Jon Baldwin, WR, Pittsburgh - Had five receptions for 139 yards, including a 45-yard touchdown catch, in a 41-21 win against Rutgers. Averaged 27.8 yards per reception.
Jabaal Sheard, DE, Pittsburgh - Had four tackles, two sacks, a forced fumble and a pass breakup in a 41-21 victory against Rutgers.
Ross Krautman, K, Syracuse - Kicked four field goals (28, 19, 33, 22) and scored 13 points in a 19-14 win at No. 20 West Virginia.
