Bulls Open Up Rebel Intercollegiate In 12th Place

TAMPA- The University of South Florida women's golf team finished day one of the 2010 Rebel Intercollegiate in 12th place as a team by shooting a combined 23-over 311 through the first 36 holes.
The Bulls traveled to the alma mater of head coach Marci Kornegay at Ole Miss, and were led by freshman sensation Shena Yang, who continues to impress during her first collegiate season.
Yang led the team with a 3-over 75 through the first two rounds on Friday, good enough for 23rd place as an individual.
Senior Rachel Edwards shot a 5-over 77 on the tournament's opening day to put herself in a tie for 45th individually.
Ploi Desjubha and Ana Lopez finished at 7-over and 8-over respectively to round out the Bulls' counting scores through day 1.
The Bulls and the rest of the 15 team field at the Rebel Intercollegiate will wrap up play on Saturday beginning at 8 a.m.
