TAMPA- With just four days until kickoff against Stony Brook, USF head football coach Skip Holtz held his weekly press conference to discuss the upcoming game along with some other news and notes.
Holtz addressed the media during a USF football gameweek on Tuesday for the first time since being hired by the Bulls in January.
Holtz said he was, “giddy like a school kid,” to get out on the field and begin the season.
He also mentioned that the injury to RB Moise Plancher has allowed the stable of running backs to compete for more playing time, including Bradley Battles.
“If the game was tomorrow, I would start Battles,” Holtz said of the back who has impressed during camp this August.
Holtz also addressed which freshmen could earn some playing time this fall including RB Marcus Shaw, S Mark Joyce, QB Bobby Eveld and WR Stephen Bravo-Brown.
Players were available for the media following practice on Tuesday, including
C Sampson Genus and
CB Mistral Raymond.
The Bulls kick off their 2010 season at 7:05 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 4 against Stony Brook. Tickets are still on sale at GoUSFBulls.com
