TAMPA - As part of a weekly series, GoUSFBulls.com will spotlight a current member of the University of South Florida football team to help fans get to know the player behind the number a little better. 

This week we catch up with sophomore speedster Lindsay Lamar which, with his speed, can be a tough assignment. Lamar is not only one of the fastest Bulls on the gridiron, he also made his mark this past spring as one of the fastest runners in the BIG EAST as standout sprinter on the USF track team.

GoUSFBulls.com: How has the transition been moving from running back to receiver?
LL: "The transition went very well with the help of Coach [Phil] McGeoghan and Coach [Todd] Fitch. Coach Fitch has been really hands on with us. All the people at my position like [Dontavia] Bogan have been helping me. They have been staying with me catching balls after practice and stuff."

GoUSFBulls.com: Do you like the idea of getting to play in space?
LL: "I love that idea. Coach Fitch and Coach [Skip] Holtz are geniuses. I think they are geniuses for moving me there to help me better the team."

GoUSFBulls.com: What was  the biggest difference from playing running back to receiver?
LL: "The biggest difference for me is blocking linebackers."

GoUSFBulls.com: When did you start running track?
LL: "I started running track when I was eight years old."

GoUSFBulls.com: What was your experience like running track on at the college level?
LL: "It was a great experience running with my teammates Derrick Hopkins and Kayvon Webster. It was a great experience. I can't wait to rejoin the team and run again."

GoUSFBulls.com: What do you take from the football field to the track?
LL: "Coach [Skip] Holtz always says that knowledge is power. I take that same mentality to the track. Everything I know about track, I take it to each track meet. I study and I do everything that I do for football with track."

GoUSFBulls.com: If someone was from out of town what would you tell them that they have to do while in the Bay Area?
LL: "Go to a USF football game. There is nothing better."

GoUSFBulls.com: On one thing that people don't know about him...
LL: "I love like to sing in the shower, but don't tell anyone."
