TAMPA - Former USF DB Mistral Raymond has been selected to play in the inaugural Dixie Gridiron Classic. The game is scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 5 at 2 p.m. EST and will be played at Dixie State College in St. George, Utah.
"I'm really excited to have the opportunity to play in this all-star game," Raymond said. "I look at it as an opportunity to showcase my skills. It's another chance to play football and that's what I love to do, so I'm going to go out there, work hard and do the best I can."
Raymond played in 25 career games, starting 15, during his two-year playing career with USF. He tallied 96 tackles, 6.5 TFL, two INTs and seven PBU. Last season, Raymond, who served as a team captain, earned second-team All-BIG EAST honors after posting 56 tackles, 4.5 TFL, an INT and seven PBU.
