WoMen's Tennis Hosts UCF on Wednesday at 2 p.m.

After a grueling stretch of six matches on the road vs. Intercollegiate Tennis Association top-50 opponents, the No. 32 University of South Florida women's tennis team finally gets to play at the USF Varsity Courts vs. Central Florida at 2 p.m. on Wednesday.
“Our schedule has been really, really tough,” USF head coach Agustin Moreno said. “I believe we have a top-20 team, so I wanted to set our schedule up in a way that would test us. We have a lot we can gain going forward.”
“Central Florida is a much improved team, and this is a match we need to win. We're at home for the first time this season, and our girls are excited about it.”
The Bulls enter the match at 1-5 as a team with three individuals and one doubles tandem ranked nationally by ITA. UCF arrives in Tampa at 3-2 on the season and unranked.
Senior Irene Rehberger continues to play in the Bulls top spot through six matches. Ranked No. 52 by ITA, Rehberger is 2-3 on the year with one match unfinished. Junior Janette Bejikova sits at No. 62 in the ITA rankings and is 3-3 on the year playing at the No. 3 and 4 spots. Bejikova's first four opponents of the season were nationally ranked, and she managed to split the four matches.
The last USF individual in the rankings is Ecaterina Vasenina at No. 124. The sophomore is also 3-3 with a 1-1 record vs. ranked opponents playing exclusively in the No. 2 spot. The Bulls' doubles tandem of Bejikova and Loreto Alonso Martinez is ranked No. 20 by ITA with a 2-3 record and two wins over ranked foes.
The home match is the Bulls' first of the season, but also their last for 10 days. Following the match with UCF, they don't return to the Varsity Courts until March 6th vs. Florida State.
There is no charge for admission to any USF tennis matches.
