USF XC Named to 2010 All-Academic Team

TAMPA -- The University of South Florida women's cross country team has been awarded 2010 All-Academic status by the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA), the association announced on Wednesday.
A total of 192 teams, representing 30 conferences, were selected. The BIG EAST led all conferences with 12 member institutions earning All-Academic honors and was followed by the Big 12, who had 11 teams.
The Bulls had a cumulative fall 2010 GPA of 3.51, which was one of the highest in the BIG EAST. DePaul had the highest GPA in the BIG EAST with a 3.64, followed by West Virginia (3.61) and USF. Marquette and Syracuse rounded out the top-5 with a 3.51 and 3.50, respectively.
Alabama had the highest team GPA with a 3.88 and in-conference foe Villanova was named the Cross Country Women's Scholar Team of the Year for the second year in a row, earning a 3.38 GPA.
