Bulls Set to Play Texas, Arizona State in Austin

The University of South Florida women's tennis team returns to the road for two matches this weekend vs. No. 33 Texas and No. 28 Arizona State. The Bulls take on the Longhorns on Friday at 3 p.m. ET and the Sun Devils on Saturday at 12 p.m.
“We should be pretty even with these two teams,” USF head coach Agustin Moreno said. “They are a part of a very tough early schedule for us, but we got a good win over UCF and hopefully our confidence is back a little bit as we play two more challenging opponents.”
The Bulls, listed No. 47 in the latest Intercollegiate Tennis Association rankings, enter the weekend with a 2-5 record and fresh off a 6-1 win over UCF on Wednesday in Tampa. Sophomore Ecaterina Vasenina has been the Bulls top player through seven matches, compiling a 5-2 record playing in the No. 2 spot. She enters the matches in Austin ranked No. 124 in the nation.
Fellow sophomore Irene Rehberger is 3-3-1 on the year and is ranked No. 52 by ITA. She takes a two-match winning streak into the Texas match, but will likely have that streak tested by No. 18 Aeriel Ellis of the Longhorns. Janette Bejikova sits at No. 62 in the ITA rankings and is 4-3 on the year playing in the middle of the Bulls' lineup.
Arizona State has three ranked individuals and one ranked doubles tandem, so the Sun Devils figure to be a formidable test for USF as well. That match will be the Bulls' second neutral-court showdown of the year and the eighth match vs. an opponent ranked among the top 50 in the nation at the time of the match.
Following the road trip, the Bulls finally get an extended stay at the USF Varsity Courts with five-straight home matches from March 6th-16th.
