Bulls Fall to No. 53 Illinois, 5-2

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (Feb. 13, 2016) – In its second straight road match, the USF women's tennis team traveled up north to take on No. 53 Illinois Saturday evening and fell 5-2 at the Atkins Tennis Center.
The Bulls (1-4) points were secured by freshman Ana Roman Dominguez (Spain) and freshman Vanja Klaric (Serbia) during singles play. Dominguez continued her strong play as she defeated her opponent in straight sets, 7-5, 7-5, to improve her record to 3-2 on the season. After dropping the first set, Klaric battled back to defeat her opponent, 0-6, 7-5, 6-3 in the No. 5 spot. The win moves Klaric to an impressive 3-0 record in singles play for the season.
The Bulls got off to slow start Saturday as they dropped the doubles point and lost all three doubles matches. USF looked to bounce back in singles play, but they ended up dropping four of the six singles matches.
The USF women's tennis team is back in action Saturday Feb. 27, as they hit the road again to take on North Texas. The match against North Texas will be the Bulls third consecutive match on the road.
