October 02, 2017 | Women's Sailing
TAMPA, OCT. 2, 2017 – The USF Sailing team had a strong showing at their first home event of the fall, placing second at the SAISA Women's Fall Championships over the weekend.
The Bulls qualified for the ACC Women's Fall Championships, held Nov. 11-12 in New London, Conn.
Senior Sarah Streater (Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.) competed in the singlehanded qualifiers and narrowly missed qualifying for the Women's Singlehanded National Championships. With two races to go, Streater was in second place, but she dropped to third and finished just four points out of the top two.
NOTABLES
Head coach Allison Jolly on what it meant to the rest of the fall and spring finishing second as a team:
"This was an extremely important result, as it not only qualified us for what is the premier fall women's event at the ACC's, but it afforded us excellent selections for our schedule next spring."
UP NEXT
The Bulls head back on the road for the Navy Fall Women's Regatta in Annapolis, Md., Oct. 7 & 8.
