COMPLETE RESULTS
TAMPA, Oct. 23, 2017 – The USF Sailing team had a nice showing at the Mrs. Hurst Women's Regatta over the weekend, finishing eighth at the two-day event held in New Hampshire.
This was the Bulls second top-10 finish of the season, having earned second place at the SAISA Women's Fall Championships Sept. 30 – Oct. 1.
The U.S. Coast Guard Academy and the hosts Dartmouth finished tied for first. Brown finished third followed by Boston College, Yale, Connecticut College and the College of Charleston.
NOTABLES
Head coach Allison Jolly on finishing eighth in a talented field:
"The very shifty wind conditions on Mascoma Lake are not what we generally experience in Tampa, so being able to sail well in something we weren't accustomed to is a good indicator of the strength of our team. Our eighth place finish was better than many teams ranked ahead of us, which was great to see."
Head coach Allison Jolly on Marina Barzaghi and Katie Bornarth's impressive performance:
"Finishing second overall in the B division as the youngest pair sailing at this event was very impressive. They have both been very consistent and with the Freshman Championships next weekend, hopefully this was a preview of things to come."
UP NEXT
The Freshman Championships will be held Oct. 28-29 in Medford, Mass. The Bulls return to St. Petersburg for Nov. 3-5 to host the ICSA Singlehanded National Championships.
