TAMPA, AUG. 21, 2017 – Take a look ahead at the week in USF Athletics and catch up on last week's action:

No. 21 Football
This Week: USF opens the season with a test at San Jose State on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. (EST). The game will be televised nationally on CBS Sports Network. Radio coverage begins at 5:30 p.m. (EST) with the pre-game show on AM-820 in Tampa, with affiliates FM-99.9 in Brooksville, AM-1070 in Port Charlotte/Ft. Myers, and 106.9-FM in Sarasota… The USF Football Radio Show will debut live at World of Beer on East Fowler Ave. (near the USF campus) on Tuesday from 6-7 p.m., when fans can meet Coach Strong and get great specials on food and drinks. Last Week: Quinton Flowers became the first Bull in contention for five national awards after being named to the Manning Award watch list… In the fall camp finale on Aug. 19, head coach Charlie Strong took the Bulls to Raymond James Stadium to prepare for game-like situations. Need to Know: In addition to season ticket packages, new group and flex ticket plans are available for upcoming 2017 season. Fans can purchase flex plans starting at $75. This will enable fans to pick their choice of any three home games and upgrade to premier seating for only $150. Women's Soccer (2-0)
This Week: USF will travel to Tuscaloosa to face Alabama on Thursday at 7 p.m. … The Bulls finish up the week at home against No. 6 North Carolina on Sunday at 1 p.m. Single-game tickets are $5 and season tickets can be purchased for only $25.

Last Week: Kylee Burroughs, Andrea Hauksdottir and Evelyne Viens all scored goals in a 3-0 home victory over American on Aug. 20… USF erased a 2-0 deficit and defeated Charlotte, 3-2, in the regular season opener at Corbett Stadium on Aug. 18. Freshman Sabrina Wagner tied things up in the final minute of regulation before Viens put the game-winner in the back of the net in the 103rd minute.

Men's Soccer
This Week: USF wraps up the preseason with an exhibition test against Nova Southeastern 6 p.m. Thursday at Corbett Stadium.

Last Week: USF rolled to a 4-0 exhibition win over Eckerd on Aug. 15 and retained the Rowdies Cup with a 5-0 exhibition victory over the University of Tampa at Corbett Stadium on Aug. 19. USF scored five goals against the Spartans for the first time since 2005, when the Mayors Cup transitioned into the Rowdies Cup… USF was picked to finish third in the American Athletic Conference preseason coaches' poll, while senior midfielder Ricardo Gomez landed a spot on the preseason all-conference team.

Need to Know: USF opens the regular season at home against Lipscomb on Monday, Aug. 28 at 7 p.m. Single-game tickets are $5 and season tickets can be purchased for only $25.

Volleyball
This Week: The Bulls will host the season-opening USF Invitational at The Corral. USF starts with a test against Northwestern on Friday at 7 p.m. USF will play two matches on Saturday against Arkansas-Pine Bluff (noon) and LSU (7 p.m.). Fans can purchase season tickets for only $35 HERE.

Softball
This Week: After winning gold at the Pan American Championship, head coach Ken Eriksen's U.S. national team will compete in the Japan Cup, which takes place Friday through Sunday in Takasaki City. Director of Operations Valerie Arioto (infield) and assistant coach Jessica Moore (pitcher) are competing for the team.

About USF Athletics
USF Athletics sponsors 19 varsity men's and women's teams that compete in 11 different sports, 18 at the NCAA Division I level in the American Athletic Conference. The Bulls' athletic program celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2015, having begun with a men's soccer contest in 1965. Nearly 500 student-athletes train and compete in the athletic district located on the east end of the campus in Tampa, Fla. The Bulls have claimed 12 American Athletic Conference team titles since joining the conference in 2013, including four in 2016-17, and own 109 conference championships overall. Ten USF programs reached national post-season competition in the 2016-17 season and nine were ranked in the Top 25 nationally. The Bulls posted a program-record 86 percent Graduation Success Rate (2016) in the last reporting, logged an annual department grade-point average over a 3.0 for the second straight year and saw 106 student-athletes earn their degree during the 2016-17 academic period.
