ORLANDO, OCT. 6, 2018 – The USF cross country team opened competition during the month of October on Saturday at the Disney Cross Country Classic with a sixth-place finish from its women's team and a seventh-place showing by its men's team.

Rania Samhouri (Tampa, Fla.) paced USF for the second time this season on her way to placing 19th overall with a time of 19:10.4. Sophomore Annie Allmark (Riviera Beach, Fla.) followed in 40th place after crossing the finish line in a time of 19:44.7.

Yaranel Abreu (St. Augustine, Fla.), Claire Farnsworth (Lecanto, Fla.) and Keschel Hernandez (Westminster, Colo.) each finished in the top 50 for the Bulls, as the trio placed 45th, 46th and 47th, respectively.

On the men's side sophomore Evan Babatz (Fort Myers, Fla.) placed 24th and was the top finisher for USF for the second consecutive meet following a time of 26:53.1. Freshman Danny Ferro (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) turned in a 36th-place showing with his time of 27:29.9 to take second for the Bulls.

QUOTABLES:
"It was good that our top five girls finished within 50 seconds of each other, but we just need a few more of them up closer to the front of the pack. Our men ran without one of our top runners so we were shorthanded, but I'd like to see us run with more confidence." — Head Coach Dena Reif.
