Bulls vs. Gators Series Moved Up to 2021 Start In Tampa
Bulls add date vs. South Carolina State to 2019 home slate

TAMPA, DEC. 13, 2018 – USF's football series with the Florida Gators will begin one-year earlier than previously scheduled and now open in Tampa, USF Vice President of Athletics
Michael Kelly announced on Thursday. Kelly also announced the addition of a seventh home opponent to the Bulls' 2019 slate.

"The University of Florida has been great working with us on this series and we appreciate being able to make adjustments that work best for both programs," Kelly said. "We are excited to get the Gators in Tampa two years earlier than originally scheduled and to add to our 2021 non-conference schedule that also includes games at N.C. State and BYU." Â

The Bulls' three-game series vs. Florida, previously slated to begin in 2022 in Gainesville, will now get underway on Sept. 11, 2021 with a clash in Raymond James Stadium. The Gators first visit to face USF in Tampa had previously been scheduled for the 2023 season.

The Bulls will complete the series with the Gators with two previously announced games in Gainesville on Sept. 17, 2022 and Sept. 6, 2025.

Kelly also announced the addition of a game vs. South Carolina State to the Bulls' 2019 home schedule, bringing the home slate to seven games. The Sept. 14 game vs. the Bulldogs in Raymond James Stadium completes USF's 2019 non-conference schedule, which also includes home games in the season-opener on Aug. 31 vs. Wisconsin and on Oct. 12 vs. BYU as well as a Sept. 7 road date at Georgia Tech.

The Bulls also have future non-conference series vs. Power 6 opponents scheduled against Texas (2020, 2022, 2024), N.C. State (2021 & 2024) and Louisville (2022, 2024 & 2026), with all making visits to Raymond James Stadium.

Season ticket members that renew for the 2019 season by the priority deadline of Dec. 15 will receive two free tickets to watch the Bulls take on Marshall in the 2018 Bad Boy Mowers Gasparilla Bowl in Raymond James Stadium on Thursday, Dec. 20. Season tickets may be renewed by visiting

In just its 22nd season of football, and 19th at the FBS level, the USF football program has earned 10 bowl appearances, including a current run of four straight, and owns a record of 6-3 in bowl games. The Bulls have appeared in the national top 25 rankings in each of the past three seasons, including a program record run of 20 straight weeks in the top 25, and in 2018 reached the program's 150th win faster than any FBS program in state of Florida history. USF has posted a pair of 10-plus win seasons in the last three years, including a program-record 11 wins (11-2) in 2016, and logged 15 winning seasons overall. Since first taking the field in 1997, the USF program has reached as high as No. 2 in the national rankings (2007), seen 30 players selected in the NFL Draft, 14 named All-American and 29 earn first-team all-conference selection.
