USF Women’s Soccer Alumna Trudi Carter Playing Nationally and Professionally
TAMPA, Dec. 6, 2018 – Former USF forward Trudi Carter is making a name for herself both on a nationally and professionally this year. She saw success with both her Jamaican Women's National Team and new Italian club team, AS Roma.
Carter joined the Reggae Girlz in a historic time, as the Jamaican National Team qualified for the FIFA World Cup for the first time in the country's history. In May, Carter's goal against Haiti helped the squad clinch a spot in the CONCACAF Caribbean Women's Qualifiers, leading to the team's first ever qualifying spot for the World Cup.
In November, Carter moved even further in her career when she was picked up by AS Roma who joined the club fold in the summer of 2018. The club participates in Italy's top female league, Serie A Femminile. In her debut match, Carter provided an assist in the team's 7-1 victory over Chievo Verona.
Carter and AS Roma will play between two and three matches a month from September through April in pursuit of a spot in the UEFA Women's Champions League.
