The USF women’s tennis team fell at No. 21 Texas, 6-1, in Austin on Friday.

AUSTIN, Texas, Feb. 16, 2018 — Vanja Klaric's singles victory highlighted USF's 6-1 loss at No. 21 Texas on Friday.

On court 4, Klaric, a junior from Serbia, went to a third set and outlasted Fernanda Labrana, 4-6, 6-3, 1-0 (10-7), in a super tiebreaker.

Senior Juliana Cardoso (Descalvado, Brazil) also ended her match in a super tiebreaker, but lost, 6-4, 5-7, 0-1 (9-11).

Senior Jessica Cortes Chaves (Monterrey, Mexico) fell to No. 64 Petra Granic, 6-1, 6-2, to clinch the match for the Longhorns (6-4). Freshman Evelyne Tiron (Romania) lost to No. 41 Ana Turati on court three in straight sets, 6-1, 6-2.

Junior Ana Roman Dominguez (Spain) lost to No. 1 Bianca Turati, 6-2, 6-2, and on court 6 freshman Alexandria Mjos was defeated by Marta Perez-Mur, 6-3, 6-0.

In doubles, Anna Turati and Fernanda Labrana beat Mjos and Roman, 6-2. Klaric and Dzenga fell to their opponent, 6-3, on court one as Texas clinched the doubles point.
