Bulls Set to Host UTEP and Cincinnati

TAMPA (March 11, 2018) -- The USF women's tennis team will stay in Tampa and kick off the Spring Break Tournament with UTEP on Monday and Cincinnati on Wednesday. Both matches will be at noon at the USF Varsity Tennis courts.

The Bulls (5-7) are coming off a three-game win-streak. They most recently defeated Memphis, 4-1, on Friday at home.

Jessica Cortes Chaves (Monterrey, Mexico) had an exceptional match against the Tigers at the number one spot as she clinched the win for the Bulls in three sets , 1-6, 6-0, 6-3.  Doubles tandem Ana Roman Dominguez (Spain) and Alexandria Mjos (Ausitn, Texas) clinched the doubles point on court three against the Tigers, 6-4.
 
Scouting the Opponent: 
UTEP
The Miners (4-6) enter Monday's match with a two-game losing streak against UT-Arlington and Wyoming. Against Wyoming, freshman Chloe Purkiss won her fifth match of the season in straight sets, 6-1, 6-1, on court six.

This will be the first time in history that the Bulls and the Miners have met in program history.
 
Cincinnati
The Bearcats (7-6) are coming off a three-game losing streak including conference opponent, Temple, 3-4.
 
Earlier in the season, Cincinnati faced the Bulls' most recent opponent, Memphis, at won 5-2.
 
The Bearcats last met the Bulls in 2016 during the conference tournament, and won 4-0.
