Bulls Extend Win-Streak to Eight

TAMPA (March 24, 2018) — The USF women's tennis team stretched its win streak to eight against in-state opponent, FGCU, 4-3.

The Bulls (10-7, 4-1) started the match strong as the doubles pair of Nicole Dzenga (Harare, Zimbabwe) and Vanja Klaric (Gaborone, Botswana) clinched the doubles point on the top court, 6-1.
 
Alexandira Mjos (Austin, Texas) and Ana Roman Dominguez (Burgos, Spain) dominated court three of doubles defeating their opponent in a shut-out, 6-0 to start doubles play.  
 
At No. 2 singles, Evelyne Tiron (Bucharest, Romania) clinched the match for the Bulls in straight sets, 7-6(1), 6-4, against Madison Gallegos.
 
Going into singles play with the 1-0 advantage, Dominguez won on court three giving up only two points during the entire match, 6-0, 6-2. Klaric also won at the No. 4 spot with the same score, 6-0, 6-2.

"It was nice to get a little revenge from last year. We kind of turned that match around, so we're happy about that. Really good doubles point. We played really well particularly at No. 3 doubles and No.1. They did a really good job of taking care of business right away. We need to make some adjustments for tomorrow. We need to do a better job of playing better from start to finish up and down the lineup, so hopefully we can improve on that."
