No. 4 Seeded USF Heads to Dallas for American Athletic Conference Tournament
TAMPA (April 18, 2017) – The No. 4 seeded USF women's tennis team will kick off the American Athletic Conference tournament in the quarterfinals on Thursday at 1 p.m. (EST).
The Bulls (12-9) were seeded fourth in the conference, positioning them to see the winner of No. 12 Temple or No. 5 on Thursday.
USF closed out regular-season play with a tough shutout loss to No. 40, FIU, 4-0, but previously went on a nine-game winning streak from March 4-March 25.
Vanja Klaric (Gaborone, Botswana) leads the team in singles, 13-7 at one, three, four, and five spots. As a doubles pair, juniors Klaric and
Nicole Dzenga (Harare, Zimbabwe) have worked thirteen wins this season at the No.1 and No. 2 spots.
The American Athletic Conference tournament will take place at the SMU Tennis Complex in Dallas, Texas.

SMU
The Bulls and the Mustangs met earlier this season in Dallas where USF triumphed, 4-3. SMU is 3-4 in the American with losses to UCF, Tulsa, and Wichita State and wins over Houston, Tulane, and ECU.
Ana Perez-Lopez leads the Mustangs in singles (14-6) with the majority of her wins at the No. 4. In doubles, Tiffany Hollebeck and Anzhelika Shapovalova lead the Mustangs with an 14-5 mark at the No. 2 and 3 spots.
Temple
Temple goes into tournament play seeded in No. 12 with a 2-1 conference record including a loss to ECU and wins over Cincinnati, 4-3, and UConn, 5-2.
Kristina Titova leads the Owls in singles, 11-4, at the No. 2 and 3 positions.
