Valley National Bank Becomes Season Presenter of USF Football

TAMPA, AUG. 28, 2018 – The USF Bulls have teamed up with Valley National Bank for an exciting new partnership in which Valley will be the season-presenting sponsor of USF football starting in 2018.
 
27297As part of the new partnership, the USF Foundation will join forces with Valley to launch the "Valley for Veterans" program. With each Bulls' touchdown scored in Raymond James Stadium during the 2018 season, USF and Valley National Bank will recognize a scholarship granted to a first generation veteran student attending the University of South Florida.
 
"This partnership is an extension of our already strong relationship with USF. We are proud to join the Tampa Bay region in the excitement and energy surrounding the University of South Florida and USF Athletics," said Valley National Bank EVP and Regional President, Joseph V. Chillura. "With USF being named the #1 public university in the country for veterans, we recognized this unique opportunity to have a meaningful impact on those students."
 
In partnership with the USF Foundation, The Valley for Veterans scholarship fund has committed a total of $75,000 in scholarships throughout the Bulls 2018 Football campaign.

USF begins the 2018 season on Saturday, Sept. 1 with a 6 p.m. kickoff vs. Elon in Raymond James Stadium. That game will be broadcast on ESPN3 and can be heard live on the USF Radio Network (820 AM locally, iHeart Radio Bulls Unlimited Channel).

ABOUT USF FOOTBALL
USF posted its second straight 10-win season in 2017 (10-2) by winning its second straight Birmingham Bowl with a 38-34 victory over Texas Tech. USF is one of just 15 teams nationally to win 20-plus games in the last two seasons (21-4) and posted a program-record 20 straight weeks ranked in the top 25, reaching as high as No. 13 in Week 8 of the 2017 season. The Bulls have won five of their last six bowl appearances and made nine (6-3) total bowl appearances in 21 seasons, including a current run of three straight bowls. USF won a program-record 11 games in 2016 (11-2) and has posted 14 winning seasons. The USF program, which first took the field in 1997, reached No. 2 in the rankings in 2007 and has seen 30 players selected in the NFL Draft, 14 named All-American and had 28 first-team all-conference selections.
