TAMPA, Jan. 12, 2019 – USF women's tennis fell to FAU, 4-3, in  their first match of the regular season.

Senior Ana Roman Dominguez (Burgos, Spain), won in straight sets, 6-0, 6-1, over No. 88 Natalia Boltinskaya (Moscow, Russia). Senior Vanja Klaric (Gaborone, Botswana) played against May Kimhi and won, 7-5, 6-1.

The Bulls had help from one of their younger players as freshman Amelie Boy (Trianon, Mauritis) won in straight sets, 6-3, 6-2.

"We came out really strong in singles," said head coach Cristina Moros. "This is just a sport where you have to be mentally tough at certain moments."

In doubles, the Bulls fell in two sets. The pairing of Dzenga (Harare, Zimbabwe) and Klaric went unfinished on court 3, while Roman Dominguez and Alexandria Mjos (Austin, Texas) lost 6-2. The doubles team of Clark and Boy also fell to their opponents, by a margin of 6-1.
