Bulls Beat Eagles 5-2 For First Win of the Season
FT. MYERS, Fla., Jan. 13, 2019 – Freshman
Amelie Boy (Trianon, Mauritis) clinched USF women's tennis first win of the season with a 7-5, 7-5, win on court five, to defeat FGCU in the Bulls' first road match of the season.
Senior
Ana Roman Dominguez (Burgos, Spain), won in straight sets for the second game in a row, 6-4, 6-3, over Maja Ornberg (Kil, Sweden). Senior
Vanja Klaric (Gaborone, Botswana) also won both sets against Sofia Perez (Alajuela, Costa Rica), 7-6(6), 6-2.
Nicole Dzenga, the senior from Harare, Zimbabwe, won her first match of the year by defeating Bridget Foster (Boca Raton, Fla.), 6-3, 6-4.
USF clinched the doubles point with wins on courts one and two. The pairing of Dzenga and Klaric won their match 6-4, while Roman Dominguez and Boy won their match 6-3. The doubles team of
Laura Pellicer Perello (Gandia, Valencia, Spain) and
Janvhi Clark (Tauranga, New Zealand) did not finish their match.
